I support America. I like America. I think Capitalism works. Yet, we find ourselves among those who have taken capitalism too far. People are stealing the American Flag from porches in San Diego possibly to sell them at swap meets. Now that is low. Real low. How can people do such a thing. Who feels the need to commit a crime to make a profit. Obviously some in San Diego have this urge. I bet this is happening around the country. These people are idiots since they have no respect for private property. This sucks.
That is my 2 cents.
9/18/01 Union Tribune, San Diego- "Most of the thefts are not being reported to police, but residents say at least a dozen flags were stolen from their North Park neighborhood during the weekend; four flags were stolen Wednesday from the historic Whaley House in Old Town; one was ripped off a tree on Bayard Street in Pacific Beach, and another was swiped from a home on Pine Needles Drive in Torrey Pines.
Some residents speculate the flags are being resold for quick cash, possibly at swap meets. Police say they are unsure where Old Glory is going."
