The Death Of Baseball?

This couldn't be it, can it?  Do we see the end of baseball looming on the horizon?  I've noticed from our last poll that most of us out there think of the players as overpaid crybabies.  "We are doing this to protect the younger players."  Yeah, right.  You want the money, the "fame", and the money.  The owners want the fame, notoriety, and the money.  Do any of you people understand that this is just a game not big business?

I think players should be compensated for their abilities.   That is fine.   I also think that the owners deserve something for "believing" in their "team".   Unfortunately this game has turned into big business.   It is not fun and exciting for the fans.   I enjoy going to minor league games, be it single A or triple A.   These games are fun.   You have players striving to be the best and at the same time are out there having fun.

Look at your own children playing the game and ask yourself if they are having fun or are they just pawns in a larger game that they are not even aware of.   Our trouble with the game stems from the parents who push their children and convince them that "this is where the money is" instead of telling them to have fun and do their best.   Do these "serious" little leaguers do it because they love the game or because they feel that it is one cool way to make millions or dollars?   Let us now wait and watch, and see where the seed of the past has grown into today's fiasco.
